VISION The vision of Gardena Foreign Language/International Studies Magnet center is to provide a quality educational program that demonstrates continued progress in student achievement. Diverse educational opportunities are offered to enable magnet students to understand and appreciate our diverse culture; develop moral and global awareness; learn to become effective communicators in two languages; and learn to be critical thinkers and problem-solvers in a technological world. Stakeholders work collaboratively to promote student achievement. Meet the staff of the Foreign Language/ International Studies Magnet! PRINCIPAL Mr. Rudy Mendoza MAGNET COORDINATOR Ms. María Camarero We are fortunate to have an excellent magnet teaching staff housed in the N building, the "magnet building". There are eight magnet teachers: Ms. Gelman, N1 - French; Ms. Warren, N2 - Math; Ms. Gordon, N4 - English; Ms. D'Assuncao, N6 - Math; Ms. Tazo, N7 - Science; Mr. Lara, N9 - Social Studies; Mr. Laird, N10 - English; Ms. Loza, N11 - Spanish. The magnet staff is here to help meet the needs of both students and parents. We are always available to help arrange a parent conference or answer any questions you, or your student may have. THE MAGNET OFFICE is located in Room 7 of the administration building. This office takes care of the magnet students' and parents' needs and concerns during their stay here at Gardena High Magnet Center. Ms.Camarero's and Ms. Hoskins' office are located here.
